OPEN^SPX

Open a modest tactical long because improving SPX momentum is confirmed by sharply lower volatility and falling yields, while sizing conservatively for mixed medium-term trend and Nasdaq divergence.

CLOSEGBPUSD

Close the short because GBPUSD at 1.3299 has breached the 1.3295 protective stop following a sharp hourly rebound. The stop was intended to preserve accrued profit, and maintaining the position after that level has failed would violate the current risk plan, particularly ahead of the upcoming US Consumer Confidence release.

HOLDGBPUSD

Maintain the short with the existing 1.3295 protective stop and 1.3270 target. Price remains below the 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, and negative 24-hour and 7-day returns preserve the bearish continuation thesis; the profit-locking stop appropriately contains oversold-rebound and upcoming USD-event risk.

UPDATEGBPUSD

Tighten the protective stop from 1.3305 to 1.3295 as GBPUSD extends lower toward the 1.3270 target. Price remains below the 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, but RSI at 36.66 and proximity to the target increase rebound risk; the revised stop locks in more profit while remaining above the 20-hour average.

HOLDGBPUSD

Maintain the short with the existing 1.3305 protective stop and 1.3270 target. Price at 1.3281 remains below the 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, while negative 1-hour, 24-hour and 7-day returns support continued downside; the locked-gain stop contains oversold-rebound risk.

HOLDGBPUSD

Maintain the short because GBPUSD remains below its 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, with negative 24-hour and 7-day returns preserving the broader bearish thesis. Keep the existing 1.3305 stop because the latest rebound above the 20-hour average raises reversal risk while the stop protects accrued profit.

HOLDGBPUSD

Maintain the short because GBPUSD at 1.3293 remains below the 1.3321 breakdown area and all key hourly and daily moving averages, with negative 24-hour and 7-day returns supporting continuation toward 1.3270. The existing 1.3305 stop already locks in profit and limits oversold-rebound risk.

UPDATEGBPUSD

Lower the stop from 1.3317 to 1.3305 to protect accrued profit as GBPUSD approaches the 1.3270 target. Price remains below the 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, but RSI at 35.84 raises rebound risk after the extended decline.

HOLDGBPUSD

The short thesis remains intact: GBPUSD at 1.3295 is below the 1.3321 breakdown area and its 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, while negative 24-hour and 7-day returns favor continuation toward 1.3270. Retain the existing 1.3317 stop because it contains oversold-rebound risk.

HOLDGBPUSD

The short thesis remains intact: GBPUSD at 1.3299 is below the 1.3321 breakdown area and all cited hourly and daily moving averages, with negative 24-hour and 7-day returns supporting continuation toward 1.3270. Keep the existing 1.3317 stop because the latest hourly rebound and low RSI increase squeeze risk without invalidating the bearish structure.

HOLDGBPUSD

The short thesis remains intact: GBPUSD at 1.3299 is below its 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, while negative 24-hour and 7-day returns continue to favor the 1.3270 target. Hold with the existing 1.3317 stop because the latest hourly rebound and low daily RSI increase squeeze risk but do not yet invalidate the bearish structure.

HOLDGBPUSD

The short thesis remains intact: GBPUSD at 1.3292 is below the 1.3321 breakdown area and its 20-hour, 50-hour, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, with negative 24-hour and 7-day returns supporting continuation toward 1.3270. Retain the existing 1.3317 stop because it contains the elevated oversold-rebound risk.

2026-08-19 11:00 UTCSUCCESSConfidence 61%

HOLDEURUSD

Short remains structurally correct: 1.1377 is below 1h SMA20/50 (1.13855/1.13866) and well below daily SMA50/200 (1.14019/1.16070), with 24h -0.35% and 7d -0.40%. The bounce off 1.1365 is shallow and 1h RSI at 43.96 is neutral, not a reversal signal; stop 1.1389 still has 1.49x 1h ATR of room and risk at stop is only 0.034% of capital. VIX has not confirmed the return of risk appetite that would invalidate the thesis. No change to stop 1.1389 / target 1.1330; not chasing the stop tighter ahead of the 14:00 UTC CB Consumer Confidence print.

OPENGBPUSD

Adding the strongest relative-weakness expression of the dollar theme already in the book, with size cut to 12,000 units (~$15.9k notional, ~$36 risk at stop, 0.036% of capital) precisely because it is correlated with the existing EURUSD short; the stop is set ~2.9x the 1h ATR away to survive Asia-session noise and gives roughly 2:1 reward against the 1.3230 objective.

HOLD^CAC

Price 8406.06 remains above the 8380 stop (0.31% distance, 0.95x 1h ATR) and above 1h SMA20/50 (8376.29/8373.88) and daily SMA50/200 (8309.32/8179.21); thesis intact at +80.26 unrealized. VIX at 18.67 (session +5.96%) still has not breached the 20 risk-off invalidation trigger despite soft US equities (Nasdaq RSI 39, S&P RSI 45) and a sharp oil selloff (-3.2% session). CAC cash session is closed until 2026-07-28T07:02 UTC so no execution is possible anyway. Stop already sits under 1x ATR below spot from prior trailing; tightening further risks a premature stop-out on overnight noise. Keeping stop 8380 / target 8550 unchanged.

HOLDEURUSD

Price 1.1378 remains below both 1h SMA20/50 (1.13870/1.13866) and well below daily SMA50/200 (1.14019/1.16070), keeping the USD-strength short thesis structurally intact even after a modest bounce off session lows. Stop at 1.1389 still has ~1.35x 1h ATR of room and open risk is only 0.034% of capital (well within the 1% per-trade cap). VIX at 18.67 has not breached the 20 risk-off confirmation level and 1h RSI (44.91) is neutral, leaving room for continuation toward 1.1330 without an invalidation trigger firing. No change to stop 1.1389 / target 1.1330.

HOLD^CAC

Price 8406.06 stays above the 8380 stop (0.31% distance, ~0.95x 1h ATR) and above 1h SMA20/50 (8376.29/8373.88) and daily SMA50/200 (8309.32/8179.21); thesis intact at +80.26 unrealized. VIX at 18.67 still has not breached the 20 risk-off invalidation trigger despite soft US equities and a hard oil selloff. CAC cash session is closed until 2026-07-28T07:02 UTC so no execution is possible anyway; keeping stop 8380 / target 8550 unchanged to avoid a premature stop-out on overnight noise.

HOLDEURUSD

Price 1.1373 remains below 1h SMA20/50 (1.13884/1.13867) and well below daily SMA50/200 (1.14019/1.16070), keeping the USD-strength short thesis structurally intact. Stop at 1.1389 still has ~1.95x 1h ATR of room and open risk is only 0.034% of capital. 1h RSI (40.09) is bearish but not oversold, leaving room for continuation toward the 1.1330 target. No change to stop 1.1389 / target 1.1330.

HOLD^CAC

Price 8406.06 remains above the 8380 stop (0.31% distance, 0.95x 1h ATR) and above 1h SMA20/50 (8376.29/8373.88) and daily SMA50/200 (8309.32/8179.21); thesis intact at +80.26 unrealized. VIX at 18.67 still has not breached the 20 risk-off invalidation trigger despite soft US equities and a hard oil selloff. CAC cash session is closed until 2026-07-28T07:02 UTC so no execution is possible anyway, and the stop already sits under 1x ATR below spot from prior trailing - tightening further risks a premature stop-out on overnight noise. Keeping stop 8380 / target 8550 unchanged.

HOLDEURUSD

Price 1.1373 remains below 1h SMA20/50 (1.13903/1.13868) and well below daily SMA50/200 (1.14812/1.16294), keeping the USD-strength short thesis structurally intact. Stop at 1.1389 still has 1.88x 1h ATR of room and open risk is only 0.034% of capital. 1h RSI (37.55) is bearish but not yet oversold, leaving room for continuation toward the 1.1330 target without hitting the 1.1389 invalidation. No change to stop 1.1389 / target 1.1330.

HOLD^CAC

Price 8406.06 stays above the 8380 stop (0.31% distance, 0.95x 1h ATR) and above 1h SMA20/50 (8376.29/8373.88) and daily SMA50/200 (8309.32/8179.21); thesis intact at +80.26 unrealized. VIX at 18.67 (session +5.96%) still has not breached the 20 risk-off invalidation trigger despite soft US equities and a hard oil selloff.

HOLDEURUSD

Price 1.1375 remains below 1h SMA20/50 (1.13905/1.13869) and well below daily SMA50/200 (1.14812/1.16294), keeping the USD-strength short thesis structurally intact. Stop at 1.1389 still has 1.48x 1h ATR of room and open risk is only 0.034% of capital. The risk-off backdrop (soft Nasdaq/S&P, oil down ~8% 24h, VIX +5.96% to 18.67) persists but hasn't accelerated further this cycle, and 1h RSI (41.8) has ticked up off its low without threatening the invalidation level (close above 1.1389). No change to stop 1.1389 / target 1.1330.

HOLD^CAC

Price 8406.06 remains above the 8380 stop (0.31% distance, 0.95x 1h ATR) and above 1h SMA20/50 (8376.29/8373.88) and daily SMA50/200 (8309.32/8179.21); thesis intact, position +80.26 unrealized. VIX has climbed further to 18.67 (session +5.96%) but still has not breached the stated 20 risk-off invalidation trigger, even as US equities stay soft (Nasdaq -1.31% session, RSI 39.02; S&P -0.68% session, RSI 45.07) and oil keeps selling off hard (-4.8% session/-8.32% 24h). This risk-off stress has not broken the CAC itself, and the CAC cash session is closed until 2026-07-28T07:02 UTC so no execution changes matter until reopen anyway. The stop already sits under 1x ATR below spot from prior trailing, so tightening further risks a premature stop-out on overnight noise before a confirmed VIX breach of 20. Keeping stop 8380 / target 8550 unchanged.

OPENEURUSD

Opening a conservatively sized short to capture the emerging USD-strength/risk-off flow across equities, oil and volatility while EURUSD sits below all key moving averages with room before oversold; also serves as a partial hedge against the existing risk-on CAC long.
